“We tried the dog treats!”
The girls are standing there looking at me. They just came back from walking the pup.
“You, uh, what?”
“The treats, the ones down by the little library.”
“You ate them?”
“Well, she had, like a dog biscuit or something and I had one of the treats.”
“You… Why?”
“We wanted to see how they tasted.”
I mean, that’s a perfectly logical reason obviously. They see my look of horror.
“It’s fine, daddy,” Little Bean says, rolling her eyes. “If they make them for dogs to eat, they aren’t going to poison humans.”
“Just, that’s just for dogs, ok?” I sputter.
They nod. Silence for a moment.
“So, uh, what did they taste like,” I ask.
They both shrug. “Not that good,” she says, “not that good.”
And off they go. The dog sits there looking at me.
“What?”
I go and get him a treat.

I got home late from meeting Pete Best last night and didn’t have enough time to put anything together for today. So, join me tomorrow for my report on meeting a Beatle! Sound good? See you then!
Trying new foods is a great indicator of bravery and curiosity. :-)
Ha ha, love it!
