I would save a small stuffed moose named "Pemigewassett" I gave it to my wife a few years ago and it was precious to both of us. She kept it by her side her entire time she was in the hospital and it was in her arms when she passed. That is the ONE item I have decided I must keep in her memory. I'm selling/giving away all her art, all her supplies and all her clothing. But Pemi is now a feature of all my hikes and I'm going to do my best to make sure he is in all my videos from now on.

Oh man I would be grabbing things with both arms and going back in for more armloads. Hopefully the kids make it

Great thought provoking and emotional question. I do not know. Important papers can be replaced. There is so much I would hate to say goodbye to, art, books, crafts, etc.. So maybe just my favorite bottle of wine to help start a new beginning?

I would want my Bible. I have many things underlined and have had to patch it together as some pages have come apart from the binding. Starting with a new one would not be the same.

Dad’s eagle/06 military rank insignia that he passed along to me (framed with very sweet letter) when I was promoted to Colonel that his Navy buddy and astronaut Alan Bean gave him that was taken to the moon On Apollo 11. Not for my glory, nor His…. but to be passed down to my kiddos of a glorious past age. The right stuff so to speak. It’s all just Stuff, after all, but it’s the memories that are precious.
