I've lived in New England (CT) for well over 40 years but only the most recent 7 as a resident of NH. I only heard the term "stick season" last year and as much as I have tried to assimilate, I was annoyed that there was something I didn't know about my adopted fabulous state. So I googled it (of course I did) and found Noah's song.
The term "stick season" is SO appropriate. I love all four seasons and if this is an additional transitional season, well then, I love it too. Looking out my window, it IS stick season!!! And it is beautiful!!

I find those stick photos make for some great black & white... so all is not lost!!
I'm moving through this dreary season by working on an application for a holiday job.
i like to call it Bare Trees like the Fleetwood Mac song. Get into really looking at the bark.
For some reason, in the past couple of years, I've come to appreciate that November has its own beauty.
