Every little while, Little Bean and I like to use one of these posts to catch our breath, take account of what’s been happening here at Day By Day and let you all know (especially if you’re new here) about upcoming stories and events.
So, that’s what we’ll do today.
First, in the upcoming story category, we have two really exciting and somewhat unexpected interviews on the very near horizon.
On Feb. 26 and then Feb. 27, we’ll present a two-part in-depth interview with folk legends Faith and Dan Senie. We’re more used to talking about rock and roll in these pages, so this was a wonderful side-trip for us. Faith and Dan have a fabulous new album out and are doing a NH tour in March so we wanted to get the word out. This is old style, Pete Seeger / Arlo Guthrie folk, and we talked with them about how to write and perform traditional folk music in the modern day. Turns out it’s more relevant than ever! Mark your schedule for that.
Then, on March 5, we’ll drop a very special Interviews By Uma with musician and composer Wendy Stevens from Compose Create. Uma has been learning one of Wendy’s songs for an upcoming piano recital so on a whim we reached out and Wendy agreed to an interview. But there’s more! Wendy actually interviewed Uma about Little Bean’s musical life as well. So, for that day, we’ll drop the story of Uma interviewing Wendy AND Wendy interviewing Uma. We think you’ll like it!
Finally, we already have three shows scheduled for the early part of 2025. We’re going to see the Wales-based rock/funk band High Fade. We have another rendezvous planned with our favorite Beatles tribute band, Studio Two. And then in May, Little Bean will see the real AC/DC for the first time. Look for stories and vlogs on all of those.
Now, catching up with all of you. How have you been?
