Nothing like really good local fresh burr ground beans on a hiking trail with an aeropress. I also really enjoy going to Capitol Grounds in Montpelier where my granddaughter plays with the Brio train set and I sip and observe really cool humans. Willem Lange of Windows to the Wild is often there with some sparkly elders. If I could, I would vote for a cup of good coffee for president! It brings people together, like nothing else. I’m raising the Bar-ista!
I love the smell of coffee but have never developed a taste for it. The scent reminds me of the annual visits my great-uncle made, and how I would wake up to the scent of fresh coffee only when he was staying with us. (Nobody in my family was ever a big fan of coffee.) On those mornings, all felt right with the world.
The very best coffee we have found - about 6 months ago - is HANX. It's full bodied & aromatic without being bitter. Ot has actually ruined me for other coffees!
It's made by Tom Hanks and sales revenues go to support our Veterans. GOOD COFFEE SUPPORTING AGOOD CAUSE! The only problem we've had is that once in awhile we don't get our monthly subscroption * they can be hsrd yo reach. But it always gets resolved. It's a new rapidly growing company & things get "lost in the shuffle." I can highly recommend this coffee!
Thanks for the shout out!!! Going to coffee houses with my dad to have coffee and talk to the people that came in. Lots of friendly type there. Now it's brew-over coffee at home and to the coffee house for lattes and friendly talk.
It truly is the simple things, my friend! And you can't get more simple (or complex for that matter) than a good cup of coffee. One of my favorite morning tasks is getting coffee ready for J along with whatever breakfast is that day: I love the ceremony of having it ready for her as she enters the dining room, like a small token of affection to start the day.
Going to Coffee Houses in the 60s and 70s listening to music and sometimes drinking coffee.

Fresh ground Dunks beans in a stove top percolator. Takes a few minutes but it's well worth the wait

Sometimes the simple things are the very best.
