I applaud you for telling Little Bean that you made up the book. I don't think many parents would have that kind of courage, or trust in their children, but I think your candor will work in your favor. It shows her you're not perfect, and maybe it will help her continue to be honest with you, too.

A friend of mine did the same, but in High School! Made up a biography of a fictional blues guitarist. No awards were won, but he did get an A on the report. :)

I made up a lot of book reports back in the day. Furthermore, I'd 'recommend' my made-up books to friends so they could do their own reports.

I read a lot, but I thought book reports were pretty stupid.
