My kids are all adults now in their late 20's and 30's with lives and families of their own and we still find time to do things together. My oldest daughter and I take my granddaughter out to events and museums every month and go camping together at least once a year, going camping together this coming week at a state park! My second daughter and I go out to eat or shopping together at least once a month, but she lives over an hour away so we find it hard to see each other as often as we would like to. My son, who shares a house with me, goes to concerts, movies, swimming, shopping, out to eat and on vacations with me regularly and we work on taking care of the house together! My kids and I share a lot of things that we are interested in and talk as often as we can and share memes and videos with each other, almost daily! The real treat is when I get to see all three of my kids together at the same time, often times unexpectedly for no special reasons, just our schedules all line up! For me what has changed the most in the last year has been my work schedule. I no longer work full time, unexpectedly due to losing my job and health issues, and have come to realize that I don't need to work full time anymore to support myself and was pushing myself to hard. It has been amazing being able to find work where I can make my own schedule and take time off when I am not well and need days to recover!

What a great relationship for a parent and child to have. Music binds us all in such a good way. My son & I have shared the interest for many years and now it flows to his own son...pretty special. Oh, and what has changed me? I'm retired and don't feel the need to be doing everything at warp factor 7 like the rest of the world!!
