My mom had one, too and I also have very fond memories of her using it to make corned beef hash! I actually have a grinder attachment to my Kitchen Aid, but not as cool as the old cast iron ones. I think Little Bean needs to taste the homemade smoked sausage to appreciate the process, maybe?

Wow, sovery cool! My grandma (on Vern Lane) showed me once how to make pierogis using dough she made herself and farmers cheese: Sadly I couldn't fully understand (or remember) her measurements, which apparently used "handfuls" instead of measuring cups or spoons, so it is lost to time.

Hope you and Bean manage to make some tasty kielbasa in the future!

My parents had one, we had one, We used to to make patties out of sirloin steaks, meatballs also for our home made spaghetti sauce, Been many years and miss all that goodness.
