It always saddens me to hear people having angst over an election. What happens in my house has a bigger impact of the quality of my life than what happens in the White House. And when we come down to brass tacks, we're all more alike than different. The example I give is that no one thinks people going hungry or homeless is a good thing. We may differ in how we want to address the problem, but no one thinks "yea, we need more homeless people!"
So if your guy/gal won/didn't win, don't let it ruin your day, let alone your week/month/year/life. Be kind to each other, love each other well and continuing working to make you the best you possible.
Dan, thank you for sharing these words. I know I need the. Right now, and I’ll be sending them to friends in the hopes they act as a balm.
I spent the past few weeks teetering on an emotional cliff, dreading in one moment, hoping in another. Now it’s time to begin the work.
The best way to recover from this feeling is to acknowledge it, and then roll up my metaphorical sleeves and get to work making the world a better place in spite of and because of the wrong that happens in it.
Thanks for this,Dan. I'm grabbing a couple of sentences from it to share with my coworkers, who are all feeling the same. This will make us feel better.

My heart feels heavy. I am going for a hike in a forest with my friends. Touch some trees and listen to the calming psithurism.
I had to look it up but what a great word psithurism is!
I learned that word a few years ago on a t-shirt! I fell in love with the word.
I can't help but think that all the money that went into TV commercials etc. for this election could have been put to better humanitarian use.

Sending love!
Thank you for the comforting thoughts. I am grieving. I am trying to fill my day with things and people I love.
There are “no” words……I just will not say them OR what I did this morning.

I'm just sick about it. My husband has gone into a cleaning frenzy to cope.
Thank you. That helps, where not much has.
