The Pretty Reckless started in 2008. Flyleaf in 2002. Eva Under Fire in 2015. Orianthi in 2005. ZZ Ward first LP in 2012 but started performing at 12 yrs old. Can't forget Dorothy! So many more to add. I have never been able to make best of lists, top 5/10 lists ever. I have favorites, but never considered music as a competition. It either moves me, or it doesn't. 🤷‍♂️

Ahhh, I forgot Eva Under Fire! I like them. Haven't heard of the others so I'll look them up. Like I said, I'm just not familiar enough with The Pretty Reckless, yet! But I will be soon!

Pretty Reckless for sure. It was Halestorm/Pretty Reckless show where I saw The Warning for the first time and went down the rabbit hole. Then they introduced me to Plush and Holy Wars. Through listening to them on spotify and spotify making its suggestions I found so many other great female fronted bands, most not american. May I ask why limit to American bands? I recommend ODC (France) Forver Still (Denmark), and Redhook (Australia)

For American I recommend Paralandra, Casandras Crossing, and L.I.F.E Project (All same singer and she is amazing)

Pretty arbitrary really! If we went world wide I’d have to have a list of a hundred LOL

Deep Sea Diver, Japanese Breakfast and Haim. If you want to see the real Mother of Grunge check out a band called Bam Bam.

Oh my, what a list! Wish I recognized more than I do. I'm not as familiar with Grace Potter as I should be! Not a big fan (yet) of Poppy. Liliac is fine but their more recent stuff is sort of meh. Some of those names like Pacifica, Lilith Czar I do recognize but know nothing about them. The rest I'll have to look into!

Too bad about Lizzy Hale not making the cut. I think she has the best voice of all those mentioned.

She's the best for sure! Still on my bucket list to go see her.

Hope you can see her at some point, They play bigger venues now. I saw her first time in Burlington, VT, the venue held a couple hundred at best. She was mesmerizing.

I've heard of Alabama Shakes, but none of the others. (I am very, very old.)
