I don't drink either, so I don't know anything about cocktails, but I love Spindrift. It's sparkling water lightly flavored with fruit juice that's made in Massachusetts. I've read that it can be used to make mocktails (non-alcoholic drinks) and cocktails. Perhaps Little Bean would like it.
Special aunts are the best friends a girl can have! I was fortunate to grow up with 22 (yes, 22, not a typo) wonderful aunts. They always played a special part in my life. There were several favorites! One, however, had (and still has) the largest impact on me in so many positive ways.....I should write a poem for her!
I used to bar tend. It was very difficult to keep up with all the new drinks that came out and also remembering the tried and true ones (and even those had variations) It got to the point where you had to ask the customer which version! Some of the drink names were and are rather hilarious (and some rather questionable)! Shirley Temples have been around at least since the 70's. Maybe even before that.
“… she’d basically eat noodles exclusively if we let her.” A child after my own heart! 😄 And we have recently discovered “mocktails”, non-alcoholic versions of cocktails. A friend had mock mules at her wedding, ginger beer and apple cider with something else mixed in (can’t remember what — simple syrup or lime juice seem to be common ingredients, though). Back in December, we went to an open mic in Killington at a pub that had a mock mule made with ginger beer and pineapple juice — a little sweeter than the wedding one, and equally as good.
I remember an alternate called a Fonzie.

I've never had a Shirley Temple.
