A brief pause today. Take a breath on voting day. Breathe deep.
Little Bean is home. I’m at work. If you’re around, by the way, stop by Griffin Free Public Library because we have our own election there today - kids will be voting on their favorite cookie. Candidates are Chocolate Chip or Oreo. I suppose you could write in a vote for Peanut Butter, but third party candidates… well.
Anyway, I just wanted to pop in to remind you that the greatest myth of politics is that your involvement starts and ends with voting. Nope.
I mean, definitely vote.
But don’t just wipe your hands and go back to the couch after, especially if things don’t go your way. Be involved. Locally. In your town. Neighborhood. Street. Backyard. You do it. Little ways or big. Just be aware. Have a plan. Tell your kids. Don’t be afraid.
Start today, right now. But keep going. You got this. We all do. Try to get some sleep. See you on the other side of the polls.
I feel that today is the most anxiety ridden I have ever been.
OREO for the win!! An aside: I think it's shameful the amount of money spent on these national elections.
