A couple days ago, I asked you all a question - What’s Your Thing? And whoa boy, did you all answer! In fact, I don’t recall getting so many comments on a post here at Day By Day. It’s funny how you can never predict what resonates with readers.
But this simple question did!
So, I thought we’d revisit that post today and take a look at those ‘things’ that you all have. First, read the original post here: What’s Your Thing?
And now, let’s take a look at the long and amazing list of those wonderful, weird and unique things that are part of who you all are!
In no particular order, these are your things!
Kites
Skiing
Stone work
Belching songs!
Diagnosing people
Diagramming sentences
Making up limericks
Maps
Covered bridges
Directions
The writing process
What a wacky and wonderful and utterly disassociated collection of oddball and beautiful things to be YOUR things. What a patchwork we are. I’ll tell you, I’d be happy to sit and listen to any one of you go into great detail for me about any one of those subjects.
And so we carry on! Remember, you all have a thing. Something. Something that has meaning. I know you do. If you ever are feeling lost or sad, or like you don’t have something to contribute. Remember your thing. Lean on it. And let me know, because I want to hear about it.
Now, go forth and do your thing, and I’ll see you tomorrow!
I didn't write it the other day when you asked, but since everyone else has weird things that they are proud of, I'll admit that my weird thing is fairy gardens. I absolutely love them! Creating them, wandering through them, anything.
