Last year, on the last weekend of the year, I asked you all a question and I feel like we ought to make this a yearly ritual.
The question was and is, “What do you want me to read?”
There are no rules insofar as time period, genre, length or age group. You all came through big time last year and I selected the below five books to put on my reading list for 2024.
I’m proud to say that, well, I read two of the five. Palestine is an absolutely harrowing graphic novel, still as timely as it was a year ago. And Paul Doiron’s The Poacher’s Son is an easy, fun read by an excellent Maine-based mystery author who also happens to be an super nice guy. The others… they are still on my list, I promise.
So, let’s go again. Give me your 2024 reading lists. What did you read? What were your favorites? What do you suggest? I’ll create a reading list of everyone’s books and post that next week.
Bonus round - pick out a few books that you feel Little Bean might enjoy as well.
Sound good? What do you want me to read?
Upcoming: A quick note for something to be on the lookout for. On Monday, we were trying to figure out how to celebrate Little Bean’s birthday. We have an idea! We’re going to write about last week’s musical adventure to see Thunderstruck, Little Bean’s favorite AC/DC Tribute Band. But the big reveal here is that we’ve also created a Video Vlog about the night which will drop over at our (relatively) new You Tube channel, called Dispatches from the Rail. The channel focuses on our musical adventures, concerts and other band-related events. We’d love to have you there as a subscriber. Give it a look at Dispatches from the Rail!
I’ll Push You. Non-fiction. It's about 2 life long friends doing the Camino de Santiago. One pushed the other in a wheelchair the entire way! Great friendship story!
