A quick shout out today to dear friend of Day By Day, music columnist Eric Saeger, who is a lunatic on the outside but warm and squishy on the inside.
Myself and Little Bean made an appearance in his music column this week in The Hippo newspaper, ostensibly because he was making mention of Baby Metal’s upcoming new album, Metal Forth, and we are apparently the only humans he knows who love them.
As most do when it comes to Baby Metal, he went straight to Pokémon. That’s cool. I don’t mind being compared to Charizard! (Though I did have to ask Uma what that was. She knew, obviously.)
Neither of us had any idea what a Waifuta is and now I sort of wish I still didn’t.
Eric’s a good guy though. He pretends to only listen to acid jazz screech punk, but I feel like he secretly blasts the new Beyoncé when nobody’s looking. And as for Baby Metal, even the most veteran music reviewers usually get it wrong! We’ll give him a pass this time, but just beware Saeger, your Beyoncé secret is out!
Here’s his hilarious and perplexing review! Oh and he’s also written a couple - let’s call them current events - books. Seriously, he’s a great writer! He also looks like late stage Lou Reed. So go check out his books now: Eric’s Books
Incoming tomorrow morning! Little Bean’s interview with the up and coming California-based sibling punk rock band, Speed of Light. We’ll be meeting them and catching a show in a couple weeks and we love them! We think you will too. Let’s go!
