Coming to you live from the trying to make the best of things department, our first full day in Atlanta turned out pretty well thanks to some kind fans and a whole lot of sugar!
As you all might be aware, the band cancelled both their Atlanta and Nashville shows leaving us in a lurch. Do we just pack up with our tail between our legs and haul home, or do we say, the heck with it, we’re here, let’s go!
Little Bean, despite some early tears upon learning of the cancellations, emphatically decided… let’s go!
So each day is new, based on road or business closures or flooding or basically how we feel. Today, unable to go the aquarium, we decided instead to tackle the Coca-Cola museum.
There, Little Bean got to taste a super secret new formula drink that she loved so much we got in line twice for, and also managed to set off the “alarm” of the super secret Coke recipe vault.
We visited the Entitlements Monument at the Civil Rights Museum and then rode the sky view to Little Bean’s delight. It’s the first Ferris Wheel she ever rode.
After, we washed that day down with pizza and wings and concluded the proceedings by watching dog pet shows on YouTube.
But more than that, we got to meet and greet with Warning fans from around the country who were equally stuck and finding each other took a bit of the sting off the disappointment.
Plus, my daughter got to pass out our band pins we made and that made her happy.
We’re moving on. We don’t know how or where. Definitely the aquarium today. There’s this ramen place we’ve been eyeing. We heard-tell of a Little Debbie amusement park near Chattanooga that sounds delicious and Nashville is also on our mind. How will we do this? Don’t know. When? Beats me. But we’re on the move, kind of dirty, pretty tired, hair a mess, unshaved, but determined.
We’ll see you tomorrow from… somewhere.
The recipe for Coke isn't patented, because they'd have to reveal the formula.
"Improvise, adapt, and overcome" would be my advice in situations requiring flexibility. It sounds like you have already mastered it!
