Remember how I said I wasn’t going to write every day during National November Writing Month? I lied. Well, not lied exactly, because I still might not have the time or ability. But I do today, on Day One, for a very specific reason.
Because today I joined the Most Excellent Order of the Red Noses. Or rather, I was ordained by the Grand Poobah of the organization into official membership.
And I could not be prouder.
Remember two weeks ago when I wrote about David of the Red Nose and how he was on a quest to make everyone laugh once a day? His actual name is Paul, and he’s ok with me mentioning that. Anyway, Paul carries around a red clown nose to give people he meets a little chuckle everyday. It’s his goal. He’s good at it. You will laugh, trust me.
Anyway, Paul dropped by my office at the library after reading the little article I did. But this time he had a gift for me, which I accepted gratefully.
“That story you did, people read that and it made them laugh,” he tells me. “So that’s the point! Now there’s two of us.”
Now there’s two of us.
Make somebody laugh today, k? It’s worth it. Remember, the Most Excellent Order of the Red Noses is always looking for new members. Be a member. Keep ‘em laughing!
Housekeeping: Welcome to November. Will I be able to write something every day? Unknown. And if I do, will it be any good? I’m guessing no! But we persist!
At any rate, I may run out of things to write about, so appreciate all your attention and comments. Give me some subjects or themes. Point me in a direction. Draw me a map. You get the idea.
Either way, I’ll see you tomorrow. Or maybe I won’t! Ready? Let’s go!
The world needs more of you clowns! ❤️
