Our dear friend and “uncle’ to Little Bean, Mr. Alan, suggested that one way to celebrate the April snow storm was to add to our yard’s ghost snow angels. So, that’s what we did!
If you’ll recall, a week or so ago, we contemplated what we thought was the final snow-fall of the season by considering the invisible imprints of dozens, maybe hundreds, of snow angels that had - over time - been imprinted into our front lawn. You can read that meditation here: Ghost Angels.
So, with a solid foot or more on the ground, with the library closed and Little Bean home on a snow day, we went out back found the freshest, cleanest patch of snow and created what we’re certain, this time, will be the final snow angel. What do you think Mr. Alan?
How about all of you my New England and elsewhere friends? This was a crazy few days, wasn’t it? How did you spend your downtime? Did you have downtime? Do you have any recollections of your snow angel days? Tell us about them!
Today, life returns to normal(ish) as the weather can hold off school and work no longer. The week ahead looks interesting, with Little Bean working on a variety of projects, including a biography report on Simone Biles and on her upcoming interview with Freeze the Fall. On Monday the eclipse happens nearly right above us so the library is holding a massive eclipse party on our grounds. And next weekend, I’m back in New York to continue my research for my upcoming fire tower field guide. A busy time, but we’re glad you’re here.
Meantime, the last snow angel will be with us a couple days anyway. And then a ghost, just like the rest.
Dan, I love Bean's snow angel! A 10 on execution! 🙌 So wonderful that you managed to capture her eyelashes above her scarf.
Sadly, we have fewer and fewer snow angel opportunities here in the Philadelphia region lately, although Spring is a beautiful thing here.
Can't wait for the upcoming reports!
Mr Alan
This reminds me of when my sister and I made snow angels as children. Those were fun! She had the day off from work yesterday ( Thursday is always a day off for her), and we spent it going through some things at home. Just trying to clean out.
