To be honest, this New York fire tower project and field guide has been a bear! Between the time line of just a year to climb 40+ towers and the distance (the closest tower is 3 hours away), I’m glad I’m in the final push. There will be editing and updates etc. of course.
But I wanted to just touch base with one happy thing that happened this week - I tagged my 18th Adirondack Fire Tower, Owls Head. Add the 6 Catskills fire towers into that total and I’ve now completed my Adirondack Fire Tower Challenge and am eligible for a patch and certificate. Yay me!
I have a ton of work yet to do in the next four weeks, but that’s one bright spot! I’d love to hear from any of you that have hiked to Adirondack Fire Towers.
Have a great Sunday everybody!
Congratulations! I look forward to reading the book and perhaps hiking to some of the towers!
