Hi Day By Dayers, things are moving fast these past few days - lots of interesting, small things and goings-on. So, I figured we’d do a rapid fire post both updating you all and answering some questions we received recently. Ready? Here goes!
Pen Pals: Little Bean’s pen pal relationship with the teen band Freeze the Fall continues! She recently received a big gift package from them that included a lyric sheet written by her favorite bassist, Aria, and signed by the whole band. That organization and the band’s team continues to impress as both talented and good role models!
Press Association Awards: Once again, the NH Press Association has honored me by nominating my Manchester Ink Link column, “Transcendental Dad,” to award winner status. I was named best columnist of the year for 2021 and 2022, and perhaps we’ll make that 2023 as well this year. The award ceremony is in a couple weeks so I’ll keep you posted of course!
Postcards from the Library: Recently, a patron donated a huge bag of (mostly) blank greeting cards to us. Hundreds of the them, all in great shape. Most had pictures of animals - cats, dogs, wolves, tigers, you name it. So I’ve basically taken to asking every kid who comes into the library what their favorite animal is and giving them a card with that animal. They can write in it, cut it out, draw, whatever they like. And that’s seemed to work. I even found a giraffe card for a youngling!
How Long Can You Do This: Here’s a question I get all the time, meaning can I write something daily forever? The answer is probobly not. Maybe. I guess. I’m currently, for example, under a strict deadline for my fire tower book and that may mean that sometime around the middle of June, I may have to pull away from doing these for a couple weeks. How would you feel about that? I’m curious on your takes on how this daily musing has worked for you. Let me know!
That’s it for today. Keep fighting the good fight!
Your daily writings are a treat, and I enjoy them, but if you need to take a break, do it. We will still be here when you return!
You have made a commitment to complete a book. This must be your priority. We will certainly miss you writing for what ever time it takes you. We will stay strong and we will survive. Good Luck
