The other day, we were driving home from a lunch outing, my daughter and her friend in the back seat, listening to the new CD from The Warning as we drove through our neighborhood.
One of our favorite songs came on called “S!ck” and both girls started saying "Turn it up, turn it up!" So of course I obliged because, hey, there's nothing quite like like two nine-year-olds screaming SICK! at the top of their lungs! And so we drove and rocked out and the girls shouted and we sang, the music blaring.
Until we got to a red light and I suddenly realized that everybody around us was staring. The people in cars next to us. Some people on the street.
Unknown to me, the girls had rolled the windows down and we were blasting The Warning for everyone to hear!
“Girls!” I shouted over the music.
“Louder daddy,” Little Bean said between laughs. “Yeah, louder, Mr. Dan,” her friend yelled.
I think they expected me to roll up the windows. Instead I rolled mine down and both of them burst out laughing. The evening was warm, the company was good, the music was loud. Rock on my little ones, rock on…
Now, that's what I call fun!
Thanks for starting my day with a laugh!
