Today, a simple potpourri of random things that I’ve accumulated and I present to you as a palate cleanser over yesterday’s more serious considerations.
First up, this digital image from my collection, which thanks to historian Ron Walters, I was finally able to get some information about. Turns out this is something called a carte-de-visites, an early inexpensive photograph format most commonly used for portraits. This photograph is an early Nathan Pease from the mid to late 1860s; #160 "Tiptop House, Mount Washington, N.H." Isn’t she a beauty!
Next up is this weird, actual, faucet that I discovered in a Chinese restaurant in Massachusetts. Just look at it! I can’t think of a more beautiful way to wash your hands, which, is perhaps, the point. You’d want to wash your hands ALL DAY under this thing.
Finally, third in line is this curious drawing Little Bean made and then surreptitiously taped to the back of the bathroom door so one sees it if they are using the bathroom and close the door behind them. She thought this was the most hilarious prank and I must admit, it’s not bad.
Loved the photos. The faucet is out of this world wonderful. Little Beans 'dark side" prank was hilarious. The Tiptop house photo is amazing. Can you even imagine going to the peak, hiking especially, in that type of clothing and footwear.
Love the randomness! The faucet is pretty daunting. The tip top house photo is so cool. Crazy how I consider photography to be a 20th Century art form when it was used extensively in the 19th C!
And I love Bean's Poop Monster! (hey, it's wearing the Poop t-shirt, it's a monster, what else to call it?
