With five days to go before we begin this grand experiment, I thought it was worth a quick test run. So, hello out there, can you hear me?
On November 1st, we’ll begin a 30 day run of essays, poems, pics and blurbs covering a wide variety of subjects from weird New Hampshire to history to parenting to whatever bizarre thing crosses my sleepless mind in the middle of the night. I promise to work hard to make it all make sense.
Some of you know me, and to you I say thanks for your love and support over the years, it’s been quite a ride and I’m looking forward to seeing where this new platform takes us.
Some of you don’t know me, and to you I also say thanks for giving this a shot. I’ve been a writer all my life - and in between a reporter, editor, and currently a librarian - and I tend to lean heavily toward introspection and asking more questions than giving answers.
I love connections and am often on the search for ways to bring the past and present together. We walk in the footsteps of those that came before us, we create footprints for those yet to come. That sort of thing.
Anyway, we’ll let the words do the talking. If you want to see more about me, here’s a link to my bookstore: https://dan-szczesny.square.site/
Some rules and requests - I’ll leave posts open to comments, keep it civil and family friendly, yeah? If you like what you’re reading, please share! If you don’t, well, maybe the next day’s will be better! See or hear about something you’d like me to write about, let me know - if I’ve already written about it, I’ll post that. If not, I’ll try to have a look.
So until we reconvene in November, here’s a pic of a troll we found in the woods. We’ll write about him soon enough. Till then, stay curious and thanks for the support!
Looking forward to your great storytelling. Retired NH librarian who also loves your in person programs.
Such a cutie
