“Check your email,” the message began, “I have something you guys should check out.”
The ‘you guys’ in question was myself and Little Bean. The message came from a friend of ours, Scott Gordon-Macey, a Vermont-based singer songwriter. Scott’s a cool dude.

He creates song demos for bands and singers and then pitches them to record the song. He's sold songs to a bunch of bands. He writes the song, lyrics, chord progressions etc., then programs his computer to put together a demo to play for the potential band. Pretty neat stuff.
Anyway, upon checking my email, we discovered, much to our extreme delight, that Scott wrote and recorded a song about us! And it’s a rock song - like a perfect 80s radio hit. Like maybe Bon Jovi would play it!
The song is called Running With Her and it’s told from the POV of Buffalo (me) and all the adventures myself and Little Bean have undertaken to travel and enjoy listening to and meeting The Warning. Here’s part of the chorus:
She's got an old soul.
She keeps me young.
Likes to go places.
That I've only dreampt of.
While it can be quite startling to simply receive a song about you and your kid in email, we know Scott and were amused and thrilled he thought of us and our adventures!
Little Bean suggested Scott immediately send the song to The Warning as well.
“It’s about them, too, daddy,” she pointed out.
