Well, I just received an update yesterday that the new book is scheduled for release on August 5, AND is currently available on pre-order! My publicist sent me a media kit and we’re gathering a list of bookstore, organizations and libraries to do some events and signings.
I can tell you that I’ve already spoken to the amazing Michael Herrmann over at Gibson’s Bookstore in Concord and with luck we’ll launch the book over there.
I’ll also have my own inventory at some point and I’ll signed those of course.
What a long trip this has been. To be part of such a large publishing house and to have had the opportunity to work with several editors and a cartographer has been incredibly educational! This will be book #10 by the way (not counting edited anthologies) so we’ll finally be in the double digits.
Given my distance to many of the hikes and research for this book, this was logistically a very complicated and time-consuming project, in particular working on it while having a full time job. Not sure if I’ll move forward with a second one through Falcon. I have some ideas, but I think they would need to be closer to home.
Or, maybe 10 books is good. Maybe I’ll stop there!
Anyway, I’m very proud of this guide, and Falcon let me make it personal, with hike descriptions that include Little Bean who came with me on a couple trips. And plenty of strange history!
Here’s a link to the book page over at Falcon, where another bunch of links will take you places like Amazon and Barnes and Noble: NY Fire Tower Guide
Let me know if you or someone you know or a bookstore or library might like a copy!
Congratulations, Dan!!
Congratulations!
