Happy snowstorm April everyone! As we wait to get slammed by a huge blizzard here in New England, I thought it might be a decent time to acknowledge all our new subscribers and update you all on what we do around here!
First, between our post about the homeless man in the sub shop a few days ago and yesterday’s announcement about Little Bean’s project with Freeze the Fall, Day By Day has seen a surge in subscribers.
So, hello! We’re so happy you decided to join us, really truly! I’m shocked every day by how many of you are actually sticking around to receive our daily little ramblings every day. If you’re new here, you may be wondering, what exactly is going on?
Well, I’m a long time journalist and author, and now a librarian, and since November of last year, subscribers like yourself have recieved a daily post on a variety of circulating topics. What we explore most around these parts is parenting, music, books, libraries, rocks and history. Each day you’ll get a little something. We try to keep things short and upbeat - like a little cookie every morning to start your day.
We love an active comments section and we especially love when you share our posts! This is also the place where you’ll get updates on upcoming books, like our series of Rocks Field Guides, or on special projects or adventures like Little Bean’s upcoming interview with Freeze the Fall or our big trip to meet Plush this summer. That sort of thing!
And we take requests! We had a request contest a few months ago where you all decided what the subject of a series of posts was going to be. That was fun! So shoot, tell us what to write about.
Anyway by the time you read this, I’ll likely have to go shovel so we’ll leave it here. Stay warm out there, keep rocking and be kind. We’ll pick this up tomorrow!
Here's my request! Let's make tomorrow's photo one of Bean making another snow angel to add to all the other ghost angels in your neighborhood! 😇
Old enough to be Little Bean's grandmother, I look forward to your stories every day. I found a Memorial Rock yesterday while on our mission to gather all the Historic Markers. It's the one for the DAR in Allenstown near the entrance to Bear Brook State Park. My two pandemic projects were finding all the covered bridges in the state, and continuingly, most of the historic markers. I am merely dabbling in the Memorial Rocks to keep the peace in the family! My husband looked askance at me while I was photographing it! Keep on writing!!!
