It’s true! I do have a book coming out!
Happy MLK Jr. Day everybody, and how fun to wake to a fresh coating of snow. The kids are out playing, the misses is home from work, the house is warm so we’re going to make an effort to stay away from media today and just be with each other.
I urge you all to do the same.
In the meantime, for today, since it’s the beginning of the week and it’s been a while since we made some general announcements, Little Bean suggested we give you some upcoming dates and cool things happening that we want to bring you along with us on!
So, first, hello to all our new subscribers! We’re so happy you’re here for our little daily word jumble. We hope you enjoy being a Day By Dayer!
Now, on with the previews!
January 27 - Interviews By Uma with Kat Leon: Little Bean’s interview with the lead singer and song-writer of the amazing rock band, Holy Wars, was delayed due to the LA fires. But we heard from Kat a couple days ago and she and the band are safe, so we’re going to drop the interview on the 27th.
February
Queen City Black Market: Little Bean and I are painting our fingernails black and heading across town for this very strange sounding event. We’ve been in touch with the organizers and we’ll see what kind of curious swag we can bring home. Plus, a food truck!
Sorrowfuse meet up: We were thrilled to hear that one of our favorite bands, Sorrowfuse from Maine, was playing at Penuchi’s in Concord. Then we were brutally disappointed to learn that Penuchi’s is a 21+ only gin joint so no Little Bean. We’re going to try to catch up with the band while they’re here and make February’s Interviews By Uma with them.
High Fade show: This is still in flux, but there’s this cool band from Scotland called High Fade we’ve been listening to and they are coming to Portland! We’ve been in touch with management and are trying to arrange a meet and greet. Stay tuned!
April: Little Bean is performing as the primary narrator in a school play that will be put on at one of the high schools. Also, I’ve been invited to give a presentation and talk to the NH MENSA association conference!
May: A huge, giant, thing is happening that I can’t tell you about yet. But trust me!
June: A piano recital, a chorus concert AND at the library a big World War 2 live re-enactment will be taking over the library grounds!
August: And the big book announcement! My tenth book, Hiking Fire Lookouts New York will be released on August 5th! There will be a lot of lead up and previews to that and I’m working on some events.
Ok, that’s it for now. There’s tons more that I’m sure I’m forgetting. We appreciate all of you being here and are so happy our subscriber ranks are growing. We’ll keep trying to give you all a little bright spot each morning. Now, get out there and make a snow angel!
That's a jam-packed schedule of fun things!!
