Down there in the suburb of Yorkville, just west of Utica and tucked deep into a strip of auto repair joints, we discover Muju Groceries.
And by discover, I mean that the lady of the house texted me a message with the directions and the command, “You must go here!” She was correct.
Little Bean is enthralled from the moment she spies the pink, neon cat slurping a boba tea.
We order some momos, a taro boba and a pile of somosas. Little Bean heads off to explore the grocery.
I realize as I’m writing this that you’ll be reading it on Black Friday weekend, though I don’t really have any lesson in mind. I guess I’d say that if you’re gonna spend the weekend shopping, maybe try someplace new?
Anyway, she comes back with a variety of chips in her hands of various, exotic flavors like basil, cheese curd and ghost pepper.
“Take a picture and send it to mommy and she’ll think we’re buying all these chips,” she say. We do and sure enough momma falls for the prank. But of course we end up buying some of the chips so maybe the prank’s on me.
We explore because it’s fun. We try new things because why not? We’ll head home with a pile of weird chips and a bunch of strange pictures because we can.
Nothing has to be a straight line. Find the curves!
It is wonderful the Uma is adventurous and loves to try new things of all sorts.
