One of the fun parts of writing a guidebook is being able to attach names to way-markers such a huge glacier erratics along the trial. One such opportunity presented itself this week up high on Kane Mountain in the Adirondacks. I’ve been tagging fire towers all this year for a hiking guide coming out next year through Falcon Guide.
Up near the summit of this lovely 2,100 foot mountain, I discovered these two big boys right near the trail. Since I’m always looking for markers to tag along the way as I GPS the route, I figured it’s time the rocks had names.
And what better place to turn to than all of you for suggestions! So let’s hear it friends, can you help us? I’ll post pictures of these lovely stones below. Take a look and name them for us! Then I’ll have Little Bean go through the suggestions and make her selections. The names she picks will become the permanent names of these two, and I’ll even mention the namers in the guide. Boom, instant fame!
What do you think? Extra credit for duo names! Let’s hear it!
Put your naming suggestion in the comments below and next week we’ll let you know what Little Bean suggested! Thanks for playing along!
