And so here we are.
I am writing this at just after midnight, so it’s Christmas Day. Santa’s cookies are devoured. The lights will blaze all night. We’ll all gather again tomorrow (far too early, I better get to bed) to sip coffee and see what the big red man brought.
Rumor has it my eldest daughter, Tough Cookie, will be joining us which would make my heart sing.
Last night, a friend planned and perfectly executed what I would only call a Pop Up, unexpected Santa visit. A sack of toys appeared suddenly under a lit outside tree and each kid received a special gift accompanied by a note from Santa written on a birch bark. Little Bean wanted me to show you all the note. She wants to have it framed.
I’m going to keep today’s missive short, but I want to tell you all something very important. Are you ready?
Don’t ever let anyone tell you that Santa isn’t real. Don’t every let anyone tell you that you aren’t important. We are what we believe and what we believe is us. Go and believe.
It means the world to us to know that you are all here, and from my family to yours, we hope that today - no matter how you do or don’t celebrate - brings you some calm and some joy.
One week left in 2023 people. Let’s go!
Merry Christmas, old friend! Glad Santa did right by Bean ❤️🎅🎄
