Happy December friends! For the longest time, pre-Day By Day, I’d use this day on my social media to take an accounting of sorts.
Where were we? Where are we going? How are you all doing?
So, I thought we’d begin a first of every month tradition here. Let’s talk about the future. There are quite a few artists, writers, musicians and such in this community. So many of you lead interesting lives, interesting hobbies - have big plans for the month.
We’d love to hear about them!
We’ll begin:
~ Over the next week or so, I’ll have a couple more road trip stories to tell you about, including our big visit to this, large metal fellow!
~ The NYS fire tower book will get a final edit or two in the next couple weeks and then I’ll switch my efforts to booking and promotion. We have a Aug. 5 release date scheduled!
~ The huge news for Little Bean and I is an absolutely packed week coming up, Dec 15-21 of music news, including our trip to see Thunderstruck! We’re also taking a trip to see the new Baby Metal concert film! (Like the Era’s film, only, well, you know…) I’ll get into it more as we get closer but the biggest part of that week is that the kid’s new, regular column “Interviews By Uma” will begin on Monday, Dec 16 with our drop of her interview with Ashley Suppa from Plush! Our hope is to drop an interview a month starting in January!
Please let us know if you’d like for us to email you a high res jpg of the teaser below. We’d love for you all to help us promote this new, exciting series for Little Bean!
~ We’ll do some more regular poetry here as well, maybe two more this month. And we’ll do a couple more of your requests as well!
So, how about you? How’s your final month of 2024 shaping up? What would you like to share? Tell us how you’re doing!
My big thing for December is my first fully-illustrated children's book is finally available! And I have decided to torture myself with learning a new craft to celebrate my Viking heritage called nallbinding. There will be a blog post on that, I'm sure!
My biggest thing for December is...well, nothing earth shattering. Hiking, snowshoeing, a few concerts, catching up on my reading. The most important thing for December is watching my grandson play varsity basketball for his high school. Everything else is secondary to that!!
