A call to arms to our dear readers from Dan and Uma!
Good morning friends, we’re are back from our all too exciting journey to see The Warning in Atlanta and Nashville. Well, the shows were cancelled. But…
… we got holed up in an Atlanta high rise as the storm washed over us, we met tons of cool fans, our car rides got cancelled, we spent a fortune on Uber, we ate amazing ramen and sushi, we got to go inside a penguin enclosure, we sampled a super secret not-yet-released Coke flavor, and we got to step onto the same stage where Bill Monroe (and Elvis and R.E.M.) performed.
I mean, seeing the band would have been nice. But Plan B was pretty darn memorable.
Anyway, you can read about the trip in our last bunch of posts and we hope you do. We’ll write more going forward as well.
But for today - TODAY - I wanted to take a quick break from our normal, daily musings to do two things.
First, say thank you for reading and for sticking with us. We don’t really expect everyone to read a post a day, but so many of you send us such nice notes and make comments. We’re really thrilled by the feedback and kindness.
Second, we could use your help. November 1st will mark the one year anniversary that Day By Day has been publishing a post daily - an essay, some pictures, a few short, some excerpts.. something. EVERY. DAY. What a journey that’s been!
Our goal for doing this was to reach 500 subscribers at that one year anniversary. The good news is we’re almost there. It’s really working. We just need a couple dozen more to hit our goal.
Can you help us by sharing, talking us up, inviting friends and family who may have an interest? Heck, just TELL your souse you’re subscribing them, they won’t mind! We’ve found that personally inviting friends, one on one, has worked best for us. Or posting in specific Facebook group pages. (Be warned that FB hates Substack so the algorithm pushes links down.) But your personal recommendations go a long way. Music. Books. Libraries. Rocks. You know what we write about.
