Today, something different! We thought we’d present a photo gallery for you of our incredible day in Boston to catch the Baby Metal show. Along the way, we got to tour a band bus - named Bumble Bree - and meet Bloodywood, and Uma got to meet and do a photo shoot with Black Veil Brides. Substack doesn’t allow a lot of photos so we’ll have to do this in two parts.
So, here’s part one in mostly chronological order. Lets go!
We begin our day at Fenway Park. The MGM Music Hall is attached to the front end of Fenway and we had to walk about a half mile from our parking garage. Can you believe this was the first time either of us had ever been to Fenway Park!
Bloodywood’s yellow tour bus is nick-named Bumble Bree. The amazing nu-metal band from Delhi offered a half dozen VIPs a tour and meet up on their bus and Uma and I scored tickets. A fellow named Dale guided the six of us about three blocks away from the music hall to the bus.
On the bus, we got to meet and chat with three members of the band - Karan Katiyar, Jayant Bhadula and Raoul Kerr. We talked with them about touring and what it’s like working with Baby Metal. Lead guitarist Karan even hinted at a big guitar sponsorship coming soon. The guys were incredibly kind to Uma.
Then it was time for a meet and greet and photo with the whole band. We also got Bloodywood totes and signed posters! The guys all asked Uma how she wanted to pose and she asked me to pick her up. When I did, the guys all did this! This may be the best band photo we’ve ever taken!
After meeting with Bloodywood, we got back in line for Uma to meet and greet and have a photo shoot with Black Veil Brides. The guys came in and lined up against the blue screen. When it was Uma’s turn, the first thing she did was give them each Black Veil Bride buttons we made. Here she is meeting lead singer Andy Biarsack and giving him his button.
Then it was photo time! The guys present themselves as a tough, goth hard rock band, but in person they’re a bunch of softies.
Here’s the result of that photo shoot, a special edition comic book cover with the band! We also got a second one in a haunted mansion
Soon it was time for the show! Our VIP passes allowed us to skip the outside line and go straight to our seats - center row front of balcony. Perfect!
We even got to meet up with some friends of Day By Day, like Maureen Elaine! We also got to meet and say hello to author and professor of music A. J. Hartley. I’ve been following his YouTube channel for a long time! Link here - AJ HARTLEY
The show started right on time, and Bloodywood absolutely blew the roof off the place with an all too short, seven song set. Below, you can watch Bloodywood perform Bekhouf, the song they collaborated on with Baby Metal! While you’re there, be sure to subscribe to our YouTube channel for music videos!
Next it was the Black Veil Brides turn and they turned up the heat with a loud eight song set ranging from their first album to most current song. There was a ton of body surfing going on!
Soon, after all the anticipation, it was time for the main act. Uma and I had been looking forward to this for months. Join us tomorrow, for Part 2 of our slide show as Baby Metal takes the stage!
