Today, we begin a new regular series by featuring a local creator! We’ll do a couple of these a month, perhaps.
We want to fulfill our promise to stay local, highlight artists within our community and give back some love and focus on the folks that have been so supportive of us. We have to stick together!
And today was a perfect day for it because we were thrilled to get volumes one and two of our copies of E. Christopher Clark’s new comic series: The Blood of Seven Queens. I was a proud Kickstarter supporter of Christopher’s journey in creating these comics and the final product is beautiful!
And because we’re Kickstarter supporters, they came signed! Jealous?
Chris is the writer and illustrator of the series, a fairy tale mash-up documenting the transformation of Frieda Jacobs from the precocious “little red riding hood” to the fearsome Queen of Hearts.
We now have the first two volumes and can’t wait to continue this journey, and we hope you will as well.
Chris lives down in Mass. and has been an indie publisher since he was fourteen! He and I have crossed paths several times over the years on the book and vendor circuit and he’s an authentic, hard working creative. He’s published a ton of comics and books too numerous to list here so I urge you all to go to his website and see everything he does. He also has a Patreon with a FREE level option so go give that a taste.

I like Chris a lot, and I know you will too. Let him know we sent ya!
Going forward: We know there’s tons of artists, writers and creatives right here in this community and we’d love to feature you all - in the weeks ahead I’d like to feature Liz Gauffreau, Tammi Truax, Maren Tirabassi and Virginia Macgregor, just to name a few and I know there’s many more of you. We also just received a new CD from the wonderful musical duo Faith and Dan Senie and we’re going to write about that! If you’re a local artist, writer or creator and you’re part of this community, just raise your hand in the comments and we’ll get to you I promise! Keep creating and keep finding local talent!
Thank you for the mention, Dan! I'd love to be featured on "Day by Day."
Thanks so much for the generous support, and for spreading the word!
