Recently, Little Bean and I came across a cartoon and comic artist we both like who goes by the name Tom Redd. About my age. Steeped in 80s super hero comics. Square jaws. Bright colors. It’s not easy to make a static cartoon pop, to make it look like movement and action. He gets it though.
Here’s a link to his Deviant Art page, give him a look: Tom Redd Art
Anyway, we were both even more thrilled to discover he’s done a series on our favorite band as well, The Warning! Again, bright colors, capturing the live action with movement. Joy in music!
So, since we’re going to be meeting our favorite ladies again in a couple weeks in Boston and they allow VIPs to bring an item each to get signed, we figured Tom’s art fit the bill! I reached out and we chatted for a bit and Tom said he’d create a specialty art piece for us, and make it look like a promo poster for the venue! He’d even leave space for signatures.
Win win for everybody. We get a inexpensive and really neat illustration to sign, he gets exposure AND The Warning gets to see his work. We’ll be writing about our September musical adventures of course and can’t wait for you to join us!
Till then, go visit Tom, and keep on rocking!
Very cool art!! Thinking maybe my grandsons would like that for Christmas....
Reminds me of psychedelic sixties posters with the 70's thrown in. Love it.
