April 21st
A Tradition Continues, As Traditions Do
Today, time.
A few years ago, thanks to Facebook memories, it occurred to us that by coincidence, we took a photo of Little Bean every year on April 21st since she was born. So, we decided to actively keep up the tradition. This year was no different!
That means that we have a photo of her now on all of the April 21 firsts that we’ve lived through, ten in all.
A chance to look back, look ahead, consider our place in the slip-stream of the everyday. And since celebrating the every day is a major theme of what we do around these parts, it seems appropriate to take a moment, take a breath, pat ourselves (all of us) on the back for having come this far.
The date feels right as well. Springtime renewal, warmer days. Right around the time when I first learned we were going to have Little Bean.
Time doesn’t get away from us. Time doesn’t march on. We don’t lose the past. It’s all right there, all the time. We just have to be aware of it. Being in the moment means being where you came from and being where you’re going as well.
We love the fact that you’re all on this journey with us. Let’s go!

How cool!! My prize possession is a collage of school pics of my son, grade 1 through 12. It's framed and when I look at it there are memories that come back with each year. If my house was on fire that would be the first thing I grab on the way out!!
