Today, Little Bean takes over. She just finished up the latest Dav Pilkey graphic novel, “Dog Man: The Scarlet Shredder” and wanted me to write about it. I told her I would if she let me interview her. So, that’s what we did. Hope you enjoy!
Dan: So, first thing, what’s the book about?
Uma: So, there was a bad guy creating clones of himself and robots and they all formed up to become a giant mega robot and they caught Dog Man and Dog Man, like, transformed himself into a robot and he was able to cut the hand off of the bad guy to free himself.
Dan: So who is this bad guy?
Uma: Dr. Scrum. Apparently he’s been the bad guy in last two books but I haven’t read those yet.
Dan: Ok, so he freed himself and then what happened?
Uma: Dog Man kicked him and like knocked him out or something because he was just standing there and then he fell down. {laughs}
Dan: So on a scale of one to ten, what’s your rating?
Uma: Most graphic novels are a ten. Who doesn’t like graphic novels?
Dan: Wait, there’s one thing that just occurred to me. Why is it called the Scarlet Shredder? Is that the bad guy?
Uma: No, that’s like the name of the robot thing that Dog Man turned into. He got sprayed by a skunk and then had to take a tomato bath and that dyed him red, permanently stained, so he’s the Scarlet Shredder.
Dan: Got it. And for those that may not know, who is Dog Man?
Uma: He’s a dog mixed with a man.
Dan: Of course! Anything else to add?
Uma: We have to get more!
