There’s this moment, very casual, very normal, where my daughter bends over, scoops the puppy up under her arm and heads off to bed without losing a step.
She holds him on her hip. And the dog looks back at me as if to say, “Well, this is my life now, what can I do?” What a life, huh?
I mention this because “A Small Moment that Changed My Outlook” was one of the topics you all voted on yesterday. We haven’t decided a winner yet. I’ll let voting continue through the weekend and you’ll see which theme won starting on Monday.
But thank you all! There’s been a lot of votes! Check out yesterday’s post if you want to vote.
Anyway, I mention the moment with the dog because it reminded me of a quote by Van Gogh where he said something along the lines of big things happen because of a series of small things.
Small moments are never, ever, small. Little things are never, ever little. Washing the dishes is important. Sipping coffee at your kitchen table is important. Your daughter walking through the house with the dog under her arm is important.
I mostly don’t know how or why it’s important, but it is. Don’t forget.
Anyway, happy Friday my friends. We made it to the weekend. We’ll do a couple regular posts on Saturday and Sunday and then we’ll announce the theme winners of your voting and next week we’ll launch into a writing series on topics that YOU all requested. That’ll be fun, yeah?
Till then, go and find your small moment. Onward!
Wonderful photo. My grandson has pup, looks just like that. part bichon and something else. They are the most people friendly dogs I've ever seen. Good choice for your daughter!
