This afternoon, we spent a little while taking measurements in our living room, getting ready for a new addition - an addition with 88 keys.
We’re getting a piano. A real stand up, heavy as all get-out piano. Our beautiful friends, Fay and Frank, are downsizing. Fay knew Little Bean had started playing and so she thought of us. The piano has been in her family for many years. Little Bean’s piano teacher graciously went over and checked out the piano for us and gave it her seal of approval.
It’s well loved. A couple keys stick. It’s a bit tinny. But it’s beautiful and it comes with love and energy.
Where will Little Bean take this? Will it become a vibrant and active center point of the living room or will it become a pretty but quiet stand for plants and photos? Don’t know.
I do know that it’s going to take some effort to get it here. We’re working on that.
I also know that music is important; to hear, to understand, to play. To that end, another amazing thing happened to us. Our friend Greg - someone we’ve not yet met - went waaay out of his way to help us secure VIP Meet and Greet tickets to see The Warning in Boston next month! Little Bean had been hoping against hope to have a picture signed by the band that we had taken last year and now we can!
What a September it’s going to be!
This musical journey sort of came out of nowhere for us, and what a journey it’s been so far. And to the folks in our life like Fay, Frank and Greg who are feeding our souls, we see you and we’re grateful! Stay tuned. Music is life…
Very cool!!! Looks a bit like one I had as a kid. I hope Little Bean enjoys having it!
So happy for you and Little Bean. There's an advantage to practicing on a piano vs. a keyboard.
